The SERVANTEE Story...

In 2015, I was leading my third mission trip to El Salvador.  We traveled to serve and support our partner, Love & Hope Children's Home.  In addition, we raised funds and helped build an addition to a home for a family in need in their local community.

After a week of serving, we rented a beach house to relax for a few days and have intentional conversations reflecting on our personal experiences from the trip.  As we headed to the airport for our flight back home, we passed a new golf course under construction. Immediately, a thought came to mind:

“What if I could organize trips for golfers where we’d SERVE others in need and then TEE it up at great local golf courses? Then throughout the trip, we’d plan to have intentional conversation time each day.  We'd talk about our faith, our relationships about how to best use our gifts and talents to be better servant leaders - people who desire to Live a Life WELL Played!”

Boom! It felt like an instant collision of gifts, talents, passion, and calling all in one!  The idea for SERVANTEE – Purpose Driven Golf was born right then and there.  However, I knew there was much to learn about starting a nonprofit, organizing events, and leading mission trips.  I also realized I needed to grow as a leader—both for myself and others.

A few years and several mission trips later, I felt a nudge from God that it was time to get the ball rolling. SERVANTEE received its 501(c)(3) nonprofit status in 2018, and since then, we’ve organized Purpose Driven Golf Events and trips that have supported various organizations and their missions.

In 2019, I was even honored with the Georgia PGA's Bill Strausbaugh Award for outstanding involvement in charity and community activities—a testament to SERVANTEE's mission.

Fast forward to 2024 and by God’s hand and grace, I’ve had the privilege of organizing and leading 14 mission trips. Over 60 different people have served on these trips, we’ve been able to make significant and eternal impacts in the lives of the people we've served and the team members who've served with us have had their eyes and hearts opened to the truth that with God, all things are possible.

Fifteen years ago, I never would have dreamed of doing such things. But through the years and these experiences, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for the unique gifts and talents that God has planted in me, and how I can best use them to serve others.

I have also become someone who aspires to Live a Life WELL Played, daily and I firmly believe SERVANTEE can make a significant impact on the lives of other golfers by helping them do the same—all while serving those in need and enjoying the great game of golf!
