JOIN US ON A TRIP TO SERVE IN THE FLORIDA PANHANDLE Experience a week of quality time together serving families living through childhood cancer on a Lighthouse Family Retreat. This impact trip will be a memory-maker, and a transformational experience for the parents and children you serve, as well as you and other volunteers. The weeks will be full of extravagant service… serving meals, leading fun children’s activities, set up for theme nights, and creating environments where cancer families can get away to rest, restore relationships, experience joy, and find hope in God!
Volunteers will be paired with a family living through childhood cancer to help serve them throughout the week with things like preparing and decorating condos, doing their laundry and dishes, playing games, and most of all, strengthening relationships that will last a lifetime. Volunteers play a critical role in creating a retreat experience that provides joy and hope, while strengthening families.
SERVANTEE Team Info Golfers will arrive a day earlier to check-in on Saturday afternoon, have dinner together that evening and we'll play a round of Purpose Driven Golf at the Sandestin Resort (Burnt Pine or Raven) on Sunday morning. If you're not a golfer, you can still come down a day early to enjoy the beach.
We're also working with LFR to organize a "Beach Golf" activities for the kids and their families. Plus we'll organize a "Dad's Hang Out" afternoon with a golf simulator and other fun golf games.
Your SERVANTEE Team/Program includes the extra night resort stay, round of golf, team member gift, & trip/programming donation fee.
Schedule Both retreats officially start Sunday afternoon with volunteer meetings and preparing the homes for the families who arrive on Monday. You'll serve the same family all week and then everybody departs on Saturday morning.
Donation / Fundraising Requirements Consider your retreat a 'domestic impact trip.' As part of the SERVANTEE team, funding covers your LFR volunteer costs, SERVANTEE team/program costs, plus families living through childhood cancer attend at no cost. For that reason, we ask volunteers to raise their funding plus additional funds to help cover their costs. The amounts below include the above and are based on you arriving a day early to play golf or for non-golfers to have a beach day.
Golfers: $2,275* Non-Golfers: $2,150* Families: contact for details
*Amounts will vary if you do not arrive a day early and/or are not playing golf. You'll also be responsible for 3-4 on your own meals throughout the week plus an optional $25 'favorite things' gifts for your family. Your entire donation amount is tax deductible.
